Generic Bio

Manuel Carvalho Coutinho holds a PhD in Communication Sciences. Since 2023 he is an Invited Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Human Sciences at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa. From 2020 to 2021 he was a research fellow in the FCT project “Towards a history of journalism in Portugal”. Since 2022 he is a researcher at the Research Centre for Communication and Culture where he is currently developing the project “History of Portuguese literary journalism: news reports and journalists”. He was a member of the editorial board of Diffractions – Graduate Journal for the Study of Culture. His main research areas include the written reportage, literary journalism and the history of journalism. He is the author of several publications in research journalism, war journalism and the history of Portuguese journalism.
