E-book on “Media and Uncertainty” available now

Monday, July 12, 2021 - 15:03

The book gathers the main communications presented at the 2nd edition of the Lisbon Winter School for the Study of Communication, which took place in January 2020, shortly before the Covid-19 pandemic revealed how uncertainty is a central dimension of contemporary societies.

The volume includes transcripts of the lecturers from Sonia Livingstone, Teresa Ashe, Saskia Witteborn, Carla Ganito, Esa Välivorronen, Fathali Moghaddam, James Painter and Victor Picard. Produced in a pre-pandemic context, the e-book provides a diagnosis on how uncertainty permeates media systems in different political and cultural contexts.

The e-book was produced by the Research Centre for Communication and Culture in partnership with the Center for Media@Risk and is available for download here.
