Synopsis
Edith Piaf's (Marion Cottilard) life was always a battle. Abandoned by her mother, she was raised by her grandmother, who owned a brothel in Normandy. From the age of 3 to 7, she went blind, but miraculously recovered. She later lived with her alcoholic father, whom she abandoned at the age of 15 to sing on the streets of Paris. In 1935 she was discovered by a nightclub owner and that same year recorded her first album. Her hard life was crowned with international success. Fame, money, friendships, but also the constant vigilance of public opinion.
