Times Higher Education - THE ranks the Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP) in 1st place, for the 3rd consecutive year, among the 12 national Higher Education institutions, in THE World University Ranking 2022.
In this latest edition of this prestigious international ranking, which has just been released, the UCP maintains its position of national leadership, placing itself in the first quartile of the ranking (position 351-400), among 1662 higher education institutions.
This ranking evaluates the performance of universities in 5 areas, based on 13 indicators: Teaching, Research, Knowledge Transfer, Citations in Scientific Publications and Internationalisation.
Regarding Citations, Universidade Católica Portuguesa is assessed with distinction, being ranked 35th in the world. This indicator seeks to analyse the role of universities in the production and dissemination of new knowledge.
According to the Rector of UCP, Isabel Capeloa Gil, it is "the consistency of the work and the quality that is reflected once again in THE ranking".
The Times Higher Education World University Rankings include more than 1,600 higher education institutions worldwide, such as Harvard University, Oxford University and Imperial College London.
It is one of the most important and consulted general rankings used to rate universities.
