Migrations, Interculturality and Human Rights

5 ECTS / Semester / Portuguese

The curricular unit will make available the fundamental tools for a coherent and structured knowledge of the contemporary world in the field of the mobility of individuals, groups and peoples. It will promote social and cultural agency by constructing adequate instruments for the interpretation of cultural diversity, for the understanding of the “other”, for dealing with the strategies that underlie the concepts of interculturality, multiculturalism and social and cultural diversity. The human and humanitarian crisis of the contemporary world will be problematized in the light of Human Rights, as the major ethical reference of modernity.
