Nelma Serpa Pinto, alumna of the Master's in Communication Studies, was interviewed for the programme ‘Alta Definição’ at the beginning of February.

During the interview, she said that by studying after work hours, she was able to do internships during the day. She started an internship in the first year of her master's degree (when the internship wasn't compulsory) at TVI, and then went to Público. It wasn't until the 2nd year of her master's degree, when the internship was already compulsory, that she went to SIC, where she continues today as an anchor on ‘Edição da Noite’, where she stands out ‘for being relentless in interviews with the highest political figures in Portugal’.

Currently, and in parallel with her work, she teaches at the Faculty of Human Sciences on the Advanced Programme in Television Journalism and always recommends that students who are interested in starting to work in journalism show themselves available to work, that they know what they're talking about, that they always confirm the information they read and that they do their best at their jobs. In addition to that, she says it's great to know that younger generations are still interested in news and journalism.
