"Fostering peace while fighting racism depends on an inclusive political approach" says Ana Evans, Professor of the Faculty of Human Sciences (UCP) in an article written in the context of the International Day of Peace, in collaboration with the Strategic Alliance of Catholic Research Universities (SACRU).

Under the theme "There is no harmony in racism", the Alliance of Catholic Research Universities, of which UCP is a founding member, gathered the opinion of several experts to mark this date.

For the FCH specialist, a professor in the Philosophy, Politics and Economics undergraduate program, it is not possible to preserve peace without fighting racism, which "continues to be embedded in the form of unconscious and deliberate discrimination”. A situation that SACRU highlights on this International Day of Peace, as it condemns "the persistent inequalities that racism feeds, further aggravated by the Covid-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine."

Universidade Católica Portuguesa thus joins, once again, the initiatives promoted by this alliance, founded in 2017, with the aim of promoting knowledge and higher education of excellence for the common good, through cooperation among the various partners.
