Sociology II

5 ECTS / Semester / Portuguese
In the continuity of the previous Sociology I course, this course seeks to introduce students to the study of several social institutions, in particular the institutions of socialization, the labour institutions, the total institutions and the political institutions. We then immediately move onto the study of the main aspects of the several stages in the evolution of societies, namely the transition from rural and traditional societies to urban and industrial societies, and the emergence of pos-industrial and tartarised societies. In this framework of change in societies, we pay especial attention to the dimensions and challenges of globalization.
