Nelson Ribeiro, researcher at CECC and professor at Universidade Católica Portuguesa, together with Ana Isabel Reis, researcher at CITCEM and professor at Universidade do Porto, coordinated and published the book História do Jornalismo Radiofónico em Portugal: dos primeiros noticiários aos anos 90 (ICNOVA, https://doi.org/10.34619/vfxc-dqut, ISBN 978-989-9048-25-6).
The book brings together a collection of essays written about the history of radio journalism in Portugal, from the emergence of the first news programs, in the late 1920s, to the second phase of liberalization of the radio sector, at the beginning of the 1990s. Essentially, the works demonstrate how journalism took time to become an autonomous field within the radio stations and how slow was the development of the different journalism genres as well.
