As part of the celebration of National Sustainability Day on September 25, the Faculty of Human Sciences challenged the students of the new Master's Degree in Psychology and Environmental Sustainability to share their thoughts on some of the most pressing sustainability issues.
Through a video, students reflected on how the media treats environmental issues, highlighting the need for greater focus on topics that are often neglected in public opinion, underlining the urgency of discussing issues that require immediate action, and calling for everyone's active participation in mitigating the climate crisis. The students also left specific recommendations for the academic community, encouraging the adoption of sustainable behaviors in everyday life to reduce the carbon footprint.
Through this pioneering Master's Degree in Portugal, the FCH has reinforced its commitment to educating and preparing its students for global challenges, combining the knowledge of psychology with environmental issues. This National Sustainability Day was an opportunity to reflect on the work that is being done, but also to recognize that much still needs to be achieved.
By involving the students in this discussion and sharing their responses in a video, FCH hopes to inspire the community to take action and take an active role in building a more sustainable future.
