Cognitive Psychology I

6 ECTS / Semester / Portuguese
Students shall acquire knowledge about the underlying processes of human cognition, understood as a system for information processing. The study of the different cognitive functions includes the relations between extant theoretical models and the presentation and discussion of the main empirical results obtained from cognitive science research methods. A further goal of this curricular unit involves preparing students to apply the knowledge acquired to the understanding of behaviour and other outputs of information processing in the human brain, to everyday situations, providing a wide range of examples for discussion.
