Television Fiction: theory and practice

This course sets as its learning goals: Promoting reasoned knowledge on the main content of Portuguese television from concept to consumption; Locate, historically, the evolution of production practices, techniques and strategies of television fictional products; Understand the mechanisms for the measurement and study of both the production and the reception of television fictional narratives (domestic and international); Grasp the circulation and sale patterns in the key markets: domestic, U.S. and Latin America. Understand the social, economic, cultural and political impact of television fiction content. Develop a critical perspective on media expressions of fiction on television and other technological devices. Develop the capacity to produce knowledge.
