CECC is organizing an event about the 50th anniversary of the Carnation Revolution, also known as the April 25th Revolution, which took place in Portugal, in 1974.
The event will take place at Universidade Católica Portuguesa from 9 to 11 May 2024. The main aim will be to discuss how the Revolution was, on the one hand, a moment of crisis and conflict, yet, on the other hand, played a significant creative and disruptive impact both within the country and abroad, manifested in several forms of representation in different spheres (political, social, cultural, economical, educational, religious, etc.).
Proposals for papers (15 to 20 minutes maximum) on topics related to the 50th anniversary of the Revolution, from a Communication and Culture Studies perspective, can be sent to cecc.fch@ucp.pt until 31 January 2024.
