On Thursday, June 20th, from 6:30 pm to 8 pm, in Room 121, the first masterclass with the Alumni Hub FCH label will take place:
How to be a Social Worker
A look at professional intervention in the different phases of promotion and protection processes in Portugal: Case Study
This masterclass aims to introduce participants to the different professional realities of Social Workers. It will be led by two former Social Work students:
Marisa Ferreira ('07), graduated in Social Work from FCH-UCP in 2007, with whom she has collaborated to date as an internship supervisor and participating in classes and other initiatives, currently president of the Board of the Maria Droste Foundation.
Rosa Varela ('07), Social Worker and Family Therapist, has been working for over 10 years in the fields of children, young people and family, at Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa, where she has been part of the generalist service, the Intervention and Family Empowerment teams and the technical team of a Shelter. Since 2019, she has worked as a Senior Technician in the Court Advisory Supervision and Qualification Unit, in matters of civil guardianship. She also works as a Family and Couple Therapist at the Manuel Peixoto Psychology Center. She has a special interest in family and community interactions as a driving force behind the development of the polis.
All Social Work students and alumni are invited to attend.
With this initiative, we want our alumni to stay connected with the Faculty of Human Sciences and give them a space to showcase the knowledge they have acquired during their professional careers, this time in the field of Social Work.
Sign up by 12 pm on June 17th.
