This curricular unit focuses on knowledge related to the construction, development, application, score and interpretation of psychological instruments as well as to the dissemination of research in this field. By the end of the unit, students are able to: Understand the importance of psychometrics as a basic and transversal discipline related to all specialist fields in psychology; Know and apply the main procedures needed for the construction and the psychometric assessment of a psychological instrument; Master the main procedures needed for the application, quotation and interpretation of psychological instruments; Reflect and debate the relevance of ethical and deontological care in the usage of psychological instruments; Demonstrate oral and written skills that are effective for sharing knowledge relevant to the academic and scientific community and society at large.
