Medieval Philosophy

6 ECTS / Semester / Portuguese
This course aims to lead students to understand: the connections between Medieval Philosophy and the preceding philosophical trends; the relevance of Saint Augustine to the development of Medieval Philosophy; the fruitfulness of the dialogue between Philosophy and Theology, both in Patristic and in Medieval Philosophy; the importance of the reception of Aristotle to the development of Scholastics; the fundamental features of scholastic philosophy.
