Learning about the core principles of health psychology and its framework within the scope of psychology; Promoting an understanding about health psychology models and their application to intervention contexts in the field of healthcare prevention and recovery from disease across the individual and community levels; Identifying the determinants of health and their influences on health, quality of life and health-related behaviours; Promoting knowledge about the health psychologist role in healthcare settings and other institutions with responsibilities for healthcare promotion, for prevention and/or adjustment to disease; Developing knowledge on core aspects concerning adaptation to chronic diseases; Stimulating research within the field.
