Director, Global Education Office. PhD in Political Science, University of Connecticut. In 2019 appointed as Senior Fellow at the University of California Berekely’s Institute for European Studies. Between 2002-14 served as co-chair of the Iberian Study Group at Harvard University’s Center for European Studies. Between 2014 and 2019 he was nominated to the Executive Board of the Luso-American Development Foundation (FLAD). In terms of internationalisation, he created and directed the UMass in Lisbon program at ISCTE and the Study in Portugal Network (SiPN) consortium for FLAD. Full Professor at the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth, where he taught for 21 years, Baum served for 9 years as Chair of the Political Science Department and was elected to 3 terms as President of its Faculty Senate. He is also a two-time Fulbright grantee to Portugal.
