Consultation-liaison Psychology

6 ECTS / Semester / Portuguese

Learning outcomes of the curricular unit:

a) To know and to understand the evolution of Consultation-Liaison Psychology (CLP), pertinence, areas and models of action, specific skills and activities of the CL psychologist, particularly in medical settings;
b) To know and to understand the fundamental characteristics and explanatory multifactorial models of various clinical conditions, common within the scope of CLP;
c) To understand and critically reflect on the specificity of the processes of screening, assessment, diagnosis and planning of intervention strategies in CLP;
d) To demonstrate skills in recording clinical information, assessing and formulating cases, and defining appropriate recommendations and intervention plans;
e) To critically reflect on the developmental and cultural considerations in the context of CLP;
f) To critically reflect on the contribution of technological innovation in intervention applied to various clinical conditions, ethical and research challenges in CLP.
