In this class students will increase their ability to understand the logical forms of sentences and arguments and sharpen their analytical argumentative skills. Students will be able to formalize statements and argument and test arguments for deductive validity. The course also aims to offer a clear distinction between the processes of proof in logical reasoning and in argumentative procedures that take place in political debates, in the resolution of ethical dilemmas and in legal argumentation.
