CECC Researcher and Professor of FCH, José Miguel Sardica, is one of the editors, along with Helena da Silva and Paulo Teodoro de Matos (from UNL and ISCTE, respectively), of a collective volume entitled War Hecatomb. International Effects on Public Health, Demography and Mentalities in the 20th Century, and published in international academic publisher Peter Lang, in its Population, Family and Society collection. The said researcher is also the author of the first chapter of this work, entitled "From innocence to harshness: the civilizational significance of World War I".
