A team of five students from the Undergraduate Degree in Communication and Cultural Sciences and the Master's Degree in Communication Studies were part of the editorial team of the 5th Journalists’ Congress formed by students from all higher education institutions with degrees in journalism.
Between October and December 2023, students Daniel Basto, Evelina Adam, Inês de Barros Miranda, João Campos and Madalena Moreira received specific training that prepared them for the four days of the Congress, so that they could cover the news (with reports and interviews) for the Congress website, social media and a radio broadcast.
As well as looking at the topics under discussion, the students had the opportunity to develop their own projects. This was the case with the interview podcast "Ossos do Ofício" produced by Evelina Adam, from the 1st year of the Master's degree, and João Campos, from the 2nd year of the Undergraduate degree.
The 5th Journalists' Congress, under the theme "Journalism, always", is an initiative open to all journalists and promoted by the Journalists' Union, the Journalists' Club and Casa da Imprensa. This year, it took place at Cinema São Jorge, in Lisbon, between January 18th and 21st.
