Scientific Field of the Communication Sciences


The Scientific Field of Communication Studies is defined by its pluri-disciplinary approach providing training programs across a broad spectrum in addition to other specialist options across the diverse sub-fields of communication, ranging from the media and journalism to digital communication and as well as communications strategies.

Founded in the early 1990s, the scientific field of communication studies has a strong tradition at Católica-Human Sciences and providing courses across the Undergraduate, Master’s and Doctoral Degree levels in addition to the post-graduate and advanced training programs attended by in the region of five hundred students.

The Social and Cultural Communications Studies degree is renowned for its high employability rates while the Master’s Degree in the Communication Sciences features on the list of the best 25 programs in Europe according to the Eduniversal ranking, and also enables students to attend a semester in the United States through the “Global Scholar Exchange Program” program in partnership with the School of Communications, University of Kent State.

In addition to their lecturing activities, the highly qualified Communications Sciences teaching staff engages in research with international level impacts as reflected by publications in international, benchmark academic journals.
