The fundamental aim of this curricular unit is to provide students with the necessary means for a critical reflection on the specific themes of environment and sustainability. It aims to provide an understanding of man's relationship with nature, in both its axiological and anthropological frameworks. The learning outcomes are to:

  • Locate the themes of environment and sustainability in the context of a contemporary philosophical ethical reflection;
  • Question, at the level of an ethical reflection, the historicity or perpetuity of the concepts of environment and sustainability;
  • Characterize the evolution of the idea of nature in its most significant moments;
  • Recognize the interdependence between man and nature.
  • Highlight the dynamic between freedom and human responsibility in building a new world.
