Culture and Globalization

6 ECTS / Semester / English
This course aims to discuss the complexity of the phenomenon of globalization, its evolution and its impact on contemporary society in a context of conflict. Special attention will be given to the discussion (i) on the challenges posed by the pandemic to the future of globalization and of the Nation-state; and (ii) on the potentialities of culture as an emancipatory resource of modernity to the transformation of a “geography of anger” (Appadurai 2006) into a “geography of proximity” (Derrida 2000) in the post-pandemic world.
