This seminar aims to provide a better understanding of fundamental factors which preside to the culture of Portuguese speaking countries. The primary objectives of this seminar therefore are:

• To gain a specific insight into the culture of Portuguese speaking countries;
• To develop critical thinking on a variety of topics pertaining to Portuguese speaking countries;
• To reflect upon the culture of the aforementioned countries in the context of teaching and learning Portuguese as a foreign language;
• To reflect upon the culture of Portuguese speaking countries, scrutinise their specificity and establish a series of nexus between different cultural, linguistic worlds;
• To carry out a critical analysis of a theoretical essay, a literary work or a similar cultural object pertaining to the main topic of the seminar.
