Researcher at the Center for Communication and Culture Studies and professor at the Faculty of Humanities, UCP, Miguel-Pedro Quadrio obtained his Ph.D. in Cultural Studies from the same institution in 2014, with the thesis "Critical Device: conditions of possibility in journalistic theatre criticism in Portugal ," under the supervision of Isabel Capeloa Gil. Grounded in the framework of critical theory and artistic studies, his research has been dedicated to exploring the systemic and historical relevance of performing arts criticism in Portugal. He published "Em nome da crítica" (In the name of critique) in January 2022 (UCE) and is currently preparing the edition of unpublished texts by Eduardo Scarlatti and a volume on the journal "O Actor" as part of the "Expositor de Signos Teatrais" project by the Cassefaz production company. Miguel-Pedro Quadrio has also worked as a theater critic for the newspaper Diário de Notícias. Within the Direção Geral das Artes and as a specialist in the theater field, he has served on various arts support juries. Additionally, as an editor and dramaturge, he has collaborated with the Theater da Garagem (2008) and the Theater Company of Almada (2008-2011).
