Professora Auxiliar Convidada na Faculdade de Ciências Humanas, Universidade Católica Portuguesa (FCH, UCP). É Investigadora no Centro de Estudos de Comunicação e Cultura (CECC). Possui um doutoramento em Linguística, no âmbito do qual desenvolveu a tese "O fenómeno da delicadeza linguística em português e em inglês". Possui um Master of Philosophy (2002) pela Universidade de Cambridge, Reino Unido - M.Phil e uma licenciatura em Línguas e Literaturas Modernas, variante de Estudos Portugueses e Ingleses (2001), pela Faculdade de Letras, Universidade de Lisboa.
