Ana Flora Machado is a PhD fellow for the Lisbon Consortium program in Culture Studies at the School of Human Sciences of the Catholic University of Portugal. She holds a BA in Media Studies (Catholic University of Portugal) and an MSc in Marketing Management from Aston University Business School.

Her research focuses on female selfrepresentation, more specifically in understanding how social media visual practices articulate with current gender discourses. Her main research interests are new media, visual culture, gender performance, gender and technology.
