Clara Caldeira graduated in and with an MA in Communication (Universidade Nova de Lisboa). Now a student in the PHD program of Culture Studies/Lisbon Consortium at the School of Human Sciences of the Catholic University of Portugal, her main research topic focuses on memory construction as a connection between the totalitarian regimes in the past and the present democracies. She is also interested in contemporary discourse practices, such as media and art communication, namely in their symbolic order construction and in terms of their importance as resistance formats, and in their social tensions in society.

She also works as a journalist and scriptwriter for television in Portugal, as well as a freelance translator.
