Nelma Serpa Pinto, a former student of the Master's in Communication Studies, is the grand winner of the Breakthrough Award at the 38th edition of the Dona Antónia Awards, an award that recognises emerging careers marked by merit and the potential for impact.
With this award, the SIC journalist, who has been with SIC Notícias since 2018 and made her debut on Primeiro Jornal in 2025, joins Professor Isabel Capeloa Gil, President of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa (honored with the Career Achievement Award), in the prestigious group of “Ferreirinha” women.
Organized by Sogrape for the past 38 years, the Dona Antónia Awards aim to perpetuate the legacy of Dona Antónia Adelaide Ferreira and recognize women who, across a wide range of fields, contribute to a more just, inclusive, and skilled society.
The ceremony for the 38th edition of the Dona Antónia Awards took place at the historic Caves Ferreira in Vila Nova de Gaia.
