hAPPy kids was a project conducted by CECC's researcher Patrícia Dias in cooperation with Rita Brito, from Escola Superior de Educação de Lisboa (ESE-IPL). It aimed at understanding how young children (under 8 years old) usually deal with new technologies and which role does the family play in terms of choices and practices involving mobile apps and other digital technologies.
The project was carried out in four phases: (i) implementation of a questionnaire designed to families with children under 8; (ii) interviews with the families; (iii) interviews with experts on child education and technologies; (iv) observation of children using mobile devices when playing at their kindergarten.
