hAPPy Kids

hAPPy kids is the title of a new project conducted by CECC's researcher Patrícia Dias, in cooperation with Rita Brito (ESE-IPL). The project aims at understanding how young children (under 8 years old) deal with new technologies and what is the role of the family in terms of choices and practices involving mobile apps and other digital technologies.

The project will be carried out in four phases, including the implementation of a questionnaire designed for families with children under 8; interviews with families; interviews with experts on child education and technologies; and observation of children using mobile devices to play at kindergarten.
