Philosophy and Literature in Contemporary Portuguese Culture

The objectives of this curricular unit include introducing students to core issues of the relationship between philosophy and literature in contemporary Portuguese culture from a historical and systematic point of view, and endowing them with conceptual instruments for a critical reflection on its most important authors and theories.

Competences:
1. Identifying the most relevant themes and problems to literary movements, students adopt critical positions through their historical contextualisation.
2. Expressing personal positions takes place through both oral and written interventions in class and the submission of essays.
3. Understand the importance of philosophical content in the enrichment of literary narrative.
4. Recognize the need for metaphysical lyricism in philosophical discourse
