Luís Gustavo Martins

Luís Gustavo Martins is Assistant Professor at the Sound and Image Department of the School of the Arts and Vice-Rector for R&D of Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Porto, Portugal. He received his PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering at University of Porto, Portugal, in 2009, with a thesis on the topic of sound segregation in music signals. His research is mainly focused on audio content analysis, sound processing and synthesis, and his research interests include signal processing, machine learning, perception and cognition, music information retrieval (MIR) and software development. More recently he has been exploring the use of tangible and multitouch interfaces for sound and music exploration and interaction.
