To examine the phenomenon of globalization in its evolution and in the complexity of its dimensions; To discuss the cultural dimension of globalization taking into account the development and the impact of contemporary media on society undergoing constant and swift change; To reflect on the globalization of new media and new ways of social interaction and networking and their cultural and political implications in the global cities of the 21st century; To discuss the cultural dimensions of globalization taking into account issues such as race, gender, class and religion.
